Yet, 800 years later, with now over 6 million inhabitants and welcoming tourists in the millions every year, it still manages to enchant, keep its natural scenery impeccable, and somehow remove the burden of time keeping, it’s all forgettable and inconsequential. West Lake is still today a floating cloud.
